4T visit to Catalyst

4T have had a very busy day at Catalyst at Widnes, where we have found out more about the environment; a little of the history of the chemicals industry in that area; and experienced some hands on science activities.

Although it was damp, we managed a quick visit to the outdoor play area, before lunch.

It was a shame that the weather spoiled the view across the river, making it hard to see the fantastic new bridge, which is an amazing contrast to the old Victorian one. 

After lunch, the potions workshop was a real high spot, with the children mixing acids and alkalis; creating heating and cooling chemical reactions; and finding out about how some scientific equipment is used.

The children were delighted to make slime and to see how different chemicals changed the colour of a flame.

A thoroughly good day out with a well behaved class who were a real credit to Thames. 
Well done!

4P RE Day

Today we have been exploring the Religion of Islam and understanding what is expected of a person following a religion. We have been thinking about what we value in our own lives and the commitments we make.

4P Assembly

We finally managed to get the board to work! Also for all those who didn’t manage to make it to our assembly on Wednesday, we hope you enjoy watching.

The theme of our assembly is family, we used clips from the famous book, Narnia, to give us inspiration.

Treasure Hunt

Today we received a mysterious letter. It said that we must head to the park to find some clues about our Topic this half term. We found lots of different pictures and riddles and discovered our Topic is all about Potions. We can't wait to share the rest of our learning with you soon!

Lazy Day

Well done to all of Year 4 for working so hard this half term, we deserve this well earned treat day!

Haka

Today we had a go at learning the Haka.

Musical Instruments

Our Topic this half term is Playlists, we have been exploring how we hear sound and how sound is made. On Friday we created our own musical instruments using different materials. Keep your eyes peeled as this week we will be performing with our instruments!
