Trip to Wyre Estuary Country Park

Fab weather, amazing activities and great children! What a wonderful day 4CW had at Wyre Estuary Country Park. The children built their own shelters, went hunting and even built fire pits. Whilst there we also gathered resources to build our Native American Longhouses.

Old but good!

Hello Parents and Friends of Y4. I was going through some photos and I realised I had not put these up from last half term. This is a science study about chemical reactions. The children created carbon dioxide using acetic acid and effervescent tablets.

Conductivity!

Year 4 are experimenting to find out which materials are good conductors and which ones are insulators. Instead of being shown what to do, the children were given the equipment and told to work out their own experiment and recording system.

Marvellous Medicine

4AR have had a busy day trying to find the perfect liquid to put into Grandma's new medicine for George.
We designed our own experiment and then worked as a team to carry it out.
We were trying to find a liquid with a high viscosity.

Trust me!

This weeks school theme is 'Trust' we talked about what trust is and what makes a trustworthy person.
4AR played a trust game during Circle Time where the person in middle had to put all their trust in there team members not to drop them.
We can safely  say that we were all able to trust each other in 4AR.

Super Science

This week Year 4 have been on a trip to Catalyst to make some potions. The children had a fantastic time making different chemical reactions in our potions class. They found out about acid and akaline.
We also had a chance to look around the other parts of the museum while we were there.
In the top floor in the observatory.
In the puzzle room where we had to think hard solving puzzles.

In the experiment room.
